We’re in a worship series entitled, “Start Living.” We’re talking about what it means to live out daily the new life that is ours through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In 1 Peter 1:23 the Scripture refers to this new life. Peter says, “You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God” (1 Peter 1:23).
What an interesting phrase. What does it mean?
Peter is telling us that our new life in Christ doesn’t come through human means but through God, and that this new life will never end. It will never perish. But Peter’s seed image implies much more. It bears incredibly good news for people who long to be all that God created them to be.
Dare to believe that out of the soil of your life God can bear the remarkable fruit of genuine love, a love that changes lives!
